Terms of Service — Chess Position Analyzer

Last updated: April 2026

The Service

Chess Position Analyzer is a free ChatGPT app that provides an interactive chessboard inside a ChatGPT conversation so users can load, edit, and discuss chess positions. The app is provided as-is.

Acceptable Use

Use the app for its intended purpose: exploring and discussing chess positions. Do not attempt to interfere with, overload, or reverse-engineer the app's infrastructure, and do not use it in ways that violate applicable law or OpenAI's own terms of service for ChatGPT.

No Warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Do not rely on it for competitive, tournament, or high-stakes analysis.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Avishay Matayev and any contributors to the app are not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app.

Third-Party Content and Attribution

The knight silhouette used in the app icon and the chess piece sprites used on the board are by Colin M.L. Burnett, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. The app uses chessground (GPL-3.0) for board rendering and chess.js (BSD-2-Clause) for position validation.

Your Conversations with ChatGPT

Your conversation with ChatGPT — including any chess questions you ask — is governed by OpenAI's terms of service, not these. See openai.com/policies/terms-of-use.

Changes

These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
